Xpress Agent offers limited scale banking and financial services to the financially excluded or underserved population through engaged agents under a valid agency agreement, rather than a teller/ cashier.

It involves an outlet owner who conducts banking & financial transactions on behalf of a bank. Agency Banking is key to financial inclusion. It provides all these services;

REQUIREMENTS
• A completed Agent application form & agreement
• A copy of ID (Driver’s license, National ID card, Int’l passport, Voter’s card).
• Recent utility bill (not later than 3 months)

• Agent’s address verification is carried out upon registration

1. Who is an Xpress Agent?

Xpress Agent is any duly approved business entity/individual that have successfully completed the registration process with Xpress Payment Solutions Limited to render services on her behalf to the public.

2. What are the requirements for becoming an Agent?

Interested business entity/individuals should have the following to qualify as an agent:

a. Must have an existing physical business outlet/location

b. Must have a functional mobile phone number

c. A copy of any statutory ID card (Driver’s license, National ID card, Int’l passport or PVC)

d. Duly completed Guarantor’s Form with Guarantor’s ID card & Passport photograph.

e. A Passport-sized photograph

f. Proof of Address (Utility bill e.g. PHCN, DSTV, GOtv, StarTimes, etc.)

g. 3-month Bank statement (not compulsory for some category of agents)

h. A duly completed Xpress Payments’ Agent application form/agreement and account package

4. How long does it take to be created as an Agent?

If all your documentations are complete, your agent account will be created in 10 minutes.

5. Can I have more than one agent account or/and location?

Yes, you can have as many agent locations or/and accounts as you want.

6. How will people know that I am a Xpress Agent?

After registration, Xpress Payments will give you branding materials that will help in your publicity. E.g. Banners, Posters, Danglers, Stickers & T-Shirts. You are expected to put the branding items in your business location.

7. Is there any provision for training after onboarding?

For us the onboarding process is not complete without training. Immediately after registration, you will receive an invite for training in any of our hubs closest to you. You can also undertake an online training if you are not able to make it to the hub.

9. What is the Agent recruitment/Registration/Setup Process?

i. Xpress Payments conducts KYC on a prospective agent and certify that agent meets the agent selection criteria.

ii. A field officer signs up an agent.

iii. Agent completes and submits Xpress Payments Agent Registration Form and Agreement.

iv. Agent makes provision for the minimum Agent Start-up Capital (N5,000) -Agent funds Xpress Payments designated bank account or Agent Wallet with the Agent’s minimum start-up capital (depending on agent’s class) by either cash deposit or funds transfer for onward credit to Agent’s trading account or Wallet

v. The Xpress agent’s account is activated, and agent receives login details and a credit alert to the tune of the Agent’s deposited start-up capital.

vi. Agent undergoes training and receives the following setup kits:

a. Certificate of Completion/registration called “Agent certificate”

b. Agent code for identification

c. Transaction Log Book/Register

d. Branding materials

e. Commission Structure Sheet

f. Agent commences full operations

11. Who is a Sub-Agent?

A sub-agent is a duly approved business entity that has successfully completed the agent registration process with Xpress Payments and is authorised to sign up other agents. The entity is called an agent aggregator or sub-agent.

12. How do I become/register as Sub-agent?

i. You can complete the sub-agent registration form on our website (www.xpresspayments.com).

Once your registration process is completed and approved you will receive a notification.

13. What are the income streams for an Agent?

An agent can earn from doing the following transactions for a third party:

a. OTC

b. BVN enrolments

c. Cash-out

d. Cash-in

e. Funds Transfers

f. Bills payments

g. Bank account opening

h. Address verification service.

14. How and when are commissions paid?

Xpress Agents’ commissions are paid monthly between 4th – 5th day of every month. All commissions are paid directly to Agents’ designated account (a bank account advised by the agent during registration).

15. As an Agent can I bring on the platform another agent?

Yes. It is called Agent referral.

17. How safe is Xpress Agents’ platforms?

Xpress Payments’ Agency terminals/channels, applications and processing systems are compliant with the global payment industry security standards. All infrastructure/systems are secured.

XPRESS AGGREGATOR

This refers to any individual or business entity, that is duly registered as an Xpress Agent to a network of Agent

Eligibility Criteria for Aggregator
• Aggregators must have Registered Businesses
• Aggregators must have the required KYC Documentation
• Utility Bill, Certificate of Incorporation, Means of Identification (Voter’s Card, National ID card, Driver’s License or International Passport), Passport Photograph, Account statement for 6months
• Aggregators must also maintain and run their own Agency Banking Outlet with Xpress Payment.
• They must have been operating for more than a year
• They must have a minimum of 10 (Ten) Agents under them. 90% of whom must be business owners.
• Must understand Agency Banking.
• Aggregators must have training facility for their Agents.
• Must have processes in place for banking services such as Account Opening, Cheque book collection, BVN enrollment.
• Sign an Aggregator SLA with Xpress Payments.
